This club have a biggest number of support in their state, Minas Gerais, in addition to being a record holder in the Campeonato Mineiro, the club has won three Brazilian titles, being the first champion in 1937, 1971 and 2021, in addition to being champion of eternal glory (Copa Libertadores) in 2013.
In addition to having several stars such as Ronalteethio, Hulk, Paulinho, São Victor and many others.
His idols are Hulk, who is the second galo player to appear (Diego Costa was the first), Victor, who made a miraculous save in 2013 in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who rivals call him "the founder of galo" and Leonardo Silva who scored the equalizer for the rooster in the second game of the Libertadores final and of course Reinaldo, the club's top scorer and Brazilian champion in 1971.
From Brazil, the club is known for being robbed and all its titles are in an incredible and wonderful way, an example of theft was Atlético's match against Flamengo, valid for the classification of the Libertadores group stage in 1981 and an example of heroic achievement the 2013 Libertadores.
