- Hollywood Kiel knocked out Buyern in the second round, this being the first time Bayern were knocked out in the DFB-Pokal second round or behind since 2000/01. Thomasshole Müller was 12 years old when that happened.
- DVD had Jude Bellingoal, Erling Haaland and more stars in their squad, yet this DFB-Pokal is the only trophy they won with them.
- First and second division sides Bayer Leverkusen and Armenia Bielefield were knocked out by amateur side Rot-Weiss Essen, being one of the six times an amateur club has knocked out 2 or more Bundesliga sides in the DFB-Pokal.
